Meditation is a Journey Not an Accomplishment

Meditation is a Journey Not an Accomplishment
I used to have a rigid idea of what meditation was until I started my journey. I started by sitting cross-legged, surrounded by candles and incense smoke, the sound of rainfall and bells chiming from a meditation app I had downloaded. Although I’m not knocking this technique, it was a wonderfully peaceful experience, after a while, I discovered there was something more to be had.

When I say, meditation is a journey, not an accomplishment, what I mean is that meditation is more than candles and incense.
Meditation is not a frozen or fixed moment in time, it is as flexible as a flowing river, it is moldable clay in your hand. Meditation is the sloth and the hummingbird. It can be still or active. One does not do meditation, one explores it. Don’t be shy, and have some fun with it; meditation does not judge, it is compassion, it is poetry, it is love.
One does not do meditation, one explores it.
